I was born in 1972 and grew up in Cookham, Berkshire. My fondest earliest memories are of cooking and painting.
After opening Matt’s Kitchen in 2010, my life has been consumed by food. The simple style of the restaurant has now afforded me the time and space to travel and this is where I mainly make my artwork.
My pieces are site specific – mainly land and sea scapes, sometimes direct reflections of the scene in front of me but often abstractions of the environment.
Locations include Sanur (Bali), Faro (Portugal), Malay Aklan (Philippines), Madeira (Portugal) and, of course Bruton in Somerset (United Kingdom).
Each work is unique and is sold as such with blemishes, sand and sunscreen often adorning the surrounds of the image.
